Lee Bowyer revealed at his pre-Accrington Stanley press conference on Thursday morning that Josh Cullen and Ben Reeves could return to the squad for Saturday’s game.
The duo – who have been sidelined through injury – have both resumed training and Bowyer admitted that their return has given him a selection headache.
Saturday’s game sees the club’s Kids For A Quid ticket initiative return to The Valley – with all U18 seats priced at just £1 each – and you can purchase yours online by clicking here.
“Josh will be back in the squad on Saturday,” Bowyer said. “He’s been looking good and very sharp in training.
“He has obviously lacked matches but he will be in and amongst the squad on Saturday. He’s another one back and Reevesy is back training as well now.
“To have the pair of them back is good and now I have a headache about who to take in the squad and who to play.
“I’d rather that than where we were a month ago, though, because we were down to the bare bones. Slowly but surely, we are getting stronger again and are getting people back.”
The Manager also provided an update on captain Jason Pearce, who remains out with the injury he picked up at Barnsley on December 29th.
Bowyer said: “Pearcey has come out of his protective boot today [Thursday]. They physio is saying that it has settled down well but he’s not close yet.
“I don’t know a time frame but he won’t be available for a little while.”
