The fourth annual Charlton v Homophobia tournament kicks off at The Valley at 6pm this evening.
Entry is free for the event which sees six LGBTQI+ friendly teams taking part in an 11-a-side tournament to help raise awareness for LGBTQI+ football.
Club legend Paul Mortimer will be in attendance to manage the Proud Valiants team. The Valiants, Charlton’s LGBTQI+ supporters group, run the event in conjunction with the club.
Other teams taking part include:
- CACT Invicta – Charlton Athletic Community Trust’s LGBTQI+ friendly affiliated football team
- University of Greenwich
- RAF XI
- Charlton Athletic Deaf Team
- A team of journalist
Proud Valiants’ women’s officer Bhavisha Patel is the cover star of this year’s programme.
