Charlton will kick-off their pre-season friendlies with a match against Romanian outfit CS Gaz Metan Mediaș in a behind-closed-doors game on Thursday, July 4th (7pm local time).
Lee Bowyer’s team will take on the Romanian Liga 1 side as part of the club’s summer training camp in Spain.
The game starts at 7pm (6pm BST) and fans will be able to follow the action via the club's usual social media channels as well as watch highlights on the club’s video subscription service Valley Pass, which costs just £6.50 per month.
Bowyer said: “It’s not going to be anything crazy. It is 45 minutes most of them will be playing and it will just be getting used to the bigger pitch as the first few days of work we are doing, at our training camp, will be in tighter areas, so it’s just to get used to a bit of longer passing and people closing you down.
“We won’t be going in for any tackles, I’ll tell the players not to tackle – it’s not about that, it is about pure fitness and getting minutes under their belt and getting their legs used to doing this again – long runs, short runs, sprints.”
