Lee Bowyer is pleased with the additions he’s been able to make to his squad this summer and focussed on getting the best out of the team on the pitch.
On deadline day Andrew Shinnie and Paul Smyth became the Addicks 11th and 12th signings of the summer and even more remarkable is that the last nine of those signings have come in since Thomas Sandgaard purchased the club three weeks ago. The pair were both signed in time to be involved in Saturday's game
Speaking at Sparrows Lane, Bowyer said of his new signings: “They’ve got to adapt and we’ve got to adapt, it will take a little bit of time but we’ll be fine. I’m very happy with what we’ve got through the door.
“Under the circumstances of everything, the embargo, the cap, everything we’ve had to deal with, I’m pleased. Steve [Gallen] and I were talking last night, once we knew about these two signings, it is miracles to have the squad of players we have, with what we had to work with and the circumstances. That is a very good squad to put together in a short space of time.
“I must thank Steve for his hard work, we’re shattered. And obviously I have to thank the owner, who has supported us financially.”
