Please find below a note to Charlton fans ahead of Saturday's season-opener against Sheffield Wednesday.
Dear Charlton fans,
We can’t wait to welcome you back to the stadium on Saturday – it has been way too long!
It is an exciting time for the club now we have real stability after the trials and tribulations of recent years which have been difficult for Charlton players, fans and staff alike.
For this welcome back, we want to put on a show for supporters and as well as the match activity, we have an exciting pre-show scheduled at The Valley which includes a renaming ceremony for the legend that is Alan Curbishley (5.05pm), an introduction to our new mascots (4.50pm), a presentation to two women’s team legends (4.40pm) and an on-pitch chat with Thomas Sandgaard (4.55pm), all expertly hosted by Valley regular Brian Cole and CharltonTV’s Scott Minto. Click here for the full schedule.
With so much going on, we want to make sure you don't miss out on any of the action, so we are encouraging you to get to you seats early.
To help with this, the club’s staff have taken additional measures. As well as opening for additional hours during the week, the ticket office will open at 10am on Saturday, which is much earlier than it would open normally for an early-evening kick-off time. The ticket office staff, will be prioritising helping supporters with tickets getting into the stadium from 5pm, so you are advised to make sure you purchase your ticket in advance to avoid unnecessary queuing on the matchday. You can purchase your ticket here.
When entering the stadium, if you are using a print-at-home or mobile ticket, please follow the instructions provided and have your ticket ready when you enter the stadium.
Saturday should be a celebration, a welcome back to fans, a tribute to a club legend, a thank you to an owner who saved the club, so please get to the stadium in good time, we hope you enjoy the game.
