Charlton Athletic Women Manager Karen Hills previews this afternoon’s trip to Vicarage Road as the Addicks take on Watford in the FA Women’s Championship (2pm).
“I’m excited, I’m looking forward to it,” explained Hills. “The turnaround comes thick and fast and there is not a lot of time to prepare. A lot of work for staff in terms of analysis, reviewing games, preparing for the next game – a lot of information for players to take on board and obviously not a lot of time to implement within training sessions.
“However, the team have done tremendously well this week. They’ve absorbed a lot of information and hopefully they’ll execute the plan today.
“We’ve prepared in the same way we’ve prepared for the other games. We’ve got a way of playing, we’re going to take it to Watford but at the same time you can’t underestimate Watford, they’ve played some top teams in the division already where they’ve done well in patches of the games and been unfortunate with some of the results so we’re not taking this game lightly, we’re going to go there and we know we’re going to have to be at our best.
“They’ve had a bit more time to recover and to prepare for this game, however we’re in a strong place and we’ve got a fantastic squad of players and all the girls are really looking forward to getting the game going.”
Kick-off is at 2pm and you can follow all the build-up to today’s game on Charlton Athletic Women’s official Instagram, Twitter and Facebook.
