Charlton Athletic are thrilled to announce the signing of promising shot-stopper Poppy Soper on a two-year deal.
Soper joins Karen Hills’ side following the end of a dual-registration deal between Women's Super League champions Chelsea and National League south side Plymouth.
The 20-year-old spent two seasons in the south west of England with Plymouth, helping the club battle against relegation in the Women's National League Southern Premier Division.
Just days after signing her dual-registration deal between the two clubs, Soper was named in Wales' Pinatar Cup squad.
Soper shared her delight at joining the Addicks. She said: "I am so happy to be here. To be part of a Championship club of this standard is a dream.
"This is my first professional contract, I just can't wait to get going. This is all I have ever wanted from a young age to say I am a professional footballer."
Head Coach Hills was pleased to make Soper her ninth summer signing: "I am delighted to have Poppy on board here at Charlton. She is a great addition to the goalkeepers' union and I am excited to watch her and Sian work together this season and see what they can achieve."
