Charlton's U18s fell to a 3-1 defeat at home to Millwall on Saturday.
The visitors took the lead inside 15 minutes at Sparrows Lane through Elidon O’Boyle. A corner was delivered to the front post and O’Boyle rose highest to nod past Finley Woodham.
The Lions added a second in the 65th minute from another set piece. The initial corner was cleared as far as the edge of the 18-yard box, but William Bright's slice effort fell kindly for Sheldon Kendall who fired in on the turn.
Just moments later hopes of a Charlton turnaround were ignited as Bradley Tagoe netted for the young Addicks. A scramble in the box saw the ball slipped across to Tagoe, who cut in from the right flank and slotted his left-footed shot in at the near post.
With additional time looming, the away side restored their two-goal lead through O’Boyle once again. Millwall countered with pace and O’Boyle was slotted in on goal, before dinking his effort over Woodham to secure all three points.
The U18s are back in action on Saturday when they host Stevenage at Sparrows Lane (KO 11am BST).
